Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service relocation

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) program will move from the North Canberra Hospital campus to a new space in Erindale.

This change is part of the Northside Hospital project and will support ongoing, high-quality care for young people and their families.

Current update

• Construction is now underway on the new CAMHS space in Erindale.
• Shaw Building Group is delivering the project in partnership with Infrastructure Canberra and Canberra Health Services.
• The new space is expected to open in late 2027.
• Current CAMHS programs and services will continue to operate at CIT Bruce while the new space is being delivered.

Overview

The new space will provide a welcoming environment for children, young people and families accessing mental health services.

Services moving to the Erindale site include:

• The Cottage Day Program
• CAMHS Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
• The Childhood Early Intervention Program (CEIP)

Community engagement

The project team will continue to engage with stakeholders and neighbouring businesses throughout the project.
