Planning and Design

Funding: $16.6 million
New health centres are being built across Canberra to make health care easier to access. These centres will bring services closer to home, reducing the need to travel for care.
Each centre is a flexible space that can change as community needs change.
They will work alongside the five existing community health centres and nurse-led Walk-in Centres already open in Canberra.
Doctors, nurses and allied health professionals will provide coordinated care at the new centres.
Planning, studies and early design are done. South Tuggeranong will be the first centre to open.
A team of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals will deliver care at this site.
The centre is under construction in Conder, at the corner of Box Hill Avenue and Heidelberg Street, across from the local primary school.
Community consultation in 2023 helped shape the design and planned services.
Construction is expected to finish in late 2026.
