Transferring, merging or closing a health practice
You must comply with legislation if you are closing, merging or relocating a health practice.
The Health Records (Privacy and Access) Act 1997 outlines the requirements.
Advertising
You must publicly advertise by a transfer notice 30 days before you intend to close, merge or relocate your practice.
Notifying ACT Health
You must also notify ACT Health as soon as possible, as the information is forwarded to the ACT Health Service Commissioner.
You can do this through the health practice closure, merger or relocation online form.
