An ACT Government Website

ACT Reconciliation Council

We promote reconciliation across Canberra and encourage community conversations about the importance of reconciliation throughout the year.

What we do

We use our networks in government, local businesses and the community sector to promote reconciliation.

We act as community ambassadors for Reconciliation Day and help the ACT Government develop a program of events for the lead-up to and on Reconciliation Day.

We support the ACT government with:

  • advice to evaluate the Reconciliation Day event
  • results of meetings of the Australian Reconciliation Network
  • strategies to involve the ACT community.

Reconciliation is a continual process of renewal. We encourage all members of the community to:

  • learn about the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • have conversations about reconciliation
  • come together as a community to build a shared understanding of our past and future.
