Hire a school facility

Find out about school facilities you can hire, including meeting rooms, sporting facilities and performing arts theatres.

You may be able to hire a public school facility, when it is not being used by the school.

There is usually a fee, set by the school principal. The fee varies between schools.

School facilities for hire include:

meeting rooms
sporting facilities (for example, playing fields, cricket pitches, basketball courts and tennis courts)
outdoor areas
swimming pools
hydrotherapy pools
performing arts theatres.

Types of facilities

As a guide, these are the facilities you can expect to find in our public schools:

Early childhood schools (preschool to year 2) usually have a hall, oval and classrooms.
Primary schools usually have a hall, oval and classrooms.
High schools usually have a gymnasium, hall, technology facilities, sporting facilities and classrooms.
Preschool to year 10 schools usually have a gymnasium, hall, technology facilities, sporting facilities, classrooms and performing arts theatres.
Colleges usually have a gymnasium, hall, technology facilities, sporting facilities, classrooms and performing arts theatres.
Specialist schools usually have a hall, hydrotherapy pool and classrooms.
