Surveys in ACT public schools
Find out what surveys are regularly conducted in our public schools.
You or your child may be invited to take part in surveys that the school or another provider sends you.
Our annual survey is the:
- School Satisfaction and Climate Survey.
We have recently discontinued our Post-school Destination Survey.
If you are a researcher, find out how to apply to do research in ACT public schools.
School Satisfaction and Climate Survey
Each year, we invite parents and carers, school staff and students in years 4 to 12 to give feedback in the School Satisfaction and Climate Survey.
The survey is optional. However, if more people respond, the results more accurately reflect the views and experiences of the whole school community.
The data will be used:
- to help your school identify what it does well and how it can improve
- to inform school improvements and government priorities
- in research projects and studies aimed at improving the quality of education in the ACT.
We will email a survey invitation and link to the parents and carers listed as the top 2 priority contacts for a student. If you did not get the invitation, or have questions about the survey:
- contact your school directly
- email EDUSurveys@act.gov.au.
If you are concerned about scam emails, you can tell the email and survey link are legitimate in these ways:
- The email will be sent from EDUSurveys@act.gov.au.
- If you click on the link in the email, you'll go to a web page with a URL that includes surveys.education.act.gov.au.

Post-school Destination Survey (discontinued)
This survey was for students at both public and non-government schools who recently left school. At the end of each year, we asked schools to provide letters to leaving students asking if they wanted to participate.
This survey was discontinued in 2026.
