An ACT Government Website

The ACT Government has a number of strategies and plans aimed at protecting the community, information and infrastructure from security threats.

Protecting people, information, and assets

The ACT Government Protective Security Framework governs how we protect people, information and services.

Read the ACT Protective Security Framework.

Countering terrorism

We have a series of multi-agency plans that capture the procedures for the prevention, preparedness, response and recovery from the threat of terrorism or an actual terrorist incident.

We regularly review and test these plans.

We also work closely under national arrangements to counter terrorism.

To find out how we do this, read the ACT Counter Terrorism Framework.

Countering violent extremism

We have a strategy that sets out how we protect the ACT from violent extremism.

We also deliver supports and programs to counter violent extremism in the ACT.

We collaborate across ACT government and with Commonwealth and state and territory governments to prevent, counter and respond to violent extremism threats in the ACT.

View the ACT Countering Violent Extremism Strategy.

Countering foreign interference

We we take action to prevent and reduce the threat of foreign interference in government and the community through coordinated action.

We also support national efforts to counter foreign interference.

Protecting our critical infrastructure

We have a strategy to protect our health care, digital systems of significance, transport, roads, and other vital physical and digital services from natural and human-induced threats.

To find out how we do this, read the ACT Critical Infrastructure Framework.
