Project goals and details
Construction commenced in December 2025. Works are expected to be completed in spring 2026.
- demolishing the aged toilet block and installing new and accessible toilet facilities with hot showers for campers and a changing places facility for visitors with special needs
- building a new parking facility for day-use visitors accessing the Gibraltar Falls lookout
- new landscaping and restoration work across the site
- constructing new day-use facilities with accessible picnic shelters and BBQ facilities
- installing upgraded interpretive signage, including Ngunnawal artworks and language highlighting continued deep connection to the Gibraltar Falls landscape
- new walking track experiences, lookouts and river access opportunities.
