There are certain vaccines you should get if you work in a job where there is a greater risk of getting or passing on a disease that is preventable through vaccination.

Speak to your doctor about which vaccines you should get.

Caring for others

These jobs include:

  • healthcare workers, including trainees and students
  • aged care workers
  • people who look after children
  • carers of people with intellectual disabilities
  • carers of older people

Occupational risks

Some vaccinations are recommended for people with certain jobs. These jobs include:

  • people who work in laboratories
  • people work in emergency and essential services
  • anyone exposed to human tissue, blood or body fluids.
