Older adults and influenza vaccines

If you are 65 years or older the influenza vaccine is government funded. There is an age-specific influenza vaccine that is designed specifically to provide increased protection against influenza for older people.

Older adults are at higher risk of developing serious complications from influenza. This is partly because our immune defences become weaker as we age.
