Funding to deliver Quitline services to the ACT community

ACT Quitline and ACT Quitline for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities
This grant is for service providers to deliver phone-based smoking and vaping support to ACT residents.
The services are:
- ACT Quitline
- ACT Quitline for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Who this is for
This grant is for eligible organisations who have experience delivering health services to the community.
What you get
A grant of up to $775,000, for a maximum of three years.
Check if you can apply
Organisations can apply if they are:
- incorporated
- a partnership
- a joint application (consortia)
- a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation
- a publicly funded research organisation
- a state or territory government entity or statutory authority.
Organisations must also:
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN)
- be GST registered
- have an account with an Australian financial institution.
Organisations should have experience:
- delivering a quit smoking or vaping support service
- providing telehealth services.
What you can do
If you’re successful, you’ll provide:
- free and confidential phone-based services to ACT residents
- evidence-based behavioural counselling to people who want to quit smoking or vaping
- a digital contact option for information and/or counselling support.
You can apply to deliver one or both of:
- ACT Quitline
- ACT Quitline for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.
Applications that can be scaled up or down will be considered favourably.
The service will start from July 2025 for at least 2 years (with the potential to extend for one extra year).
Before you apply
In your application, you’ll need to explain:
- what your program will deliver
- who it will reach
- how the service will operate
- intended outcomes.
Make sure to support your claims by either:
- referencing evidence-based models of care
- explaining the value of previous experience.
Use the provided word limits to guide the length of your responses.
When completing the pricing schedule:
- be clear about the level of outputs
- itemise direct and indirect costs
- do not include indexation in years 2 and beyond.
As part of the application process, you’ll need to provide:
- a statutory declaration supporting your answers to governance and compliance questions
- a completed pricing schedule
- a completed risk register template
- an up-to-date organisational structure or flowchart.

We’ll let you know the outcome of your application in March 2025.
If you're not successful, we’ll:
- let you know by email
- offer you a feedback session.
Your application will be assessed against the criteria in the grant guidelines.
If you get the grant, we’ll:
- call to let you know
- send you the Deed of Grant.
The Deed will outline the:
- payment schedule
- outcomes and outputs.
You must commence service delivery by July 2025.
