Funding to deliver vaping and nicotine dependence support for young people

Vaping Cessation and Nicotine Dependence Support Service grant
Vaping and nicotine dependence is a significant public health concern for young people in the ACT.
This grant is for service providers to deliver a vaping cessation and nicotine dependence support service for young people. The service will:
- be for people in the ACT aged up to 24 years old
- provide free and confidential support that meets their needs and preferences.
Who this is for
This grant is for eligible organisations who have experience delivering health services to the community.
What you get
A grant of up to $660,000 (GST exclusive), for a period of up to 3 years.
Check if you can apply
Organisations can apply if they are:
- incorporated
- a partnership
- a joint application (consortia)
- a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation
- a publicly funded research organisation.
Organisations must also:
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN)
- be GST registered
- have an account with an Australian financial institution.
Organisations should have experience:
- delivering a vaping cessation or nicotine dependence support service
- providing services to young people.
What you can do
If you’re successful, you’ll provide:
- free and confidential vaping cessation and nicotine dependence support
- free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) where clinically appropriate
- options for one-to-one counselling and peer group programs.

- what your program will deliver
- who it will reach
- how the service will operate
- intended outcomes.
Make sure to support your claims by either:
- referencing evidence-based models of care
- explaining the value of previous experience.
Use the provided word limits to guide the length of your responses.
When completing the pricing schedule:
- be clear about the level of outputs
- itemise direct and indirect costs
- do not include indexation in years 2 and beyond.

As part of the application process, you’ll need to provide:
- a statutory declaration supporting your answers to governance and compliance questions
- a completed pricing schedule
- a completed risk register template
- an up-to-date organisational structure or flowchart.

Question received: Is the entire grant $660,000 per successful applicant?
As outlined in the grant guidelines, the total maximum funding available for this grant is $660,000 (GST exclusive). Whether this amount is split between more than one successful applicant, or awarded in full to a single applicant, will be a decision for the Grant Assessment Panel.

You must commence service delivery by September 2025.
