An ACT Government Website

Summary

Each year, we publish Service Level Agreements that set out the services to be delivered, the funding provided, and how performance will be measured across the ACT Local Hospital Network.

We are improving health system performance in the ACT to deliver better, more coordinated healthcare in the community.

Our focus is on:

  • keeping people healthier for longer
  • reducing pressure on hospitals.

These improvements help people experience better health, aged care, disability and mental health services.

The National Health Reform Agreement sets out how governments work together to fund and deliver high-quality services. Under this agreement, Local Hospital Networks (LHNs) manage public hospital services and are responsible for improving outcomes across the health system.

The ACT Local Hospital Network works to:

  • deliver services based on community needs
  • ensure hospitals are accountable for treatment outcomes
  • support service quality and innovation
  • provide patients with clear information to make decisions
  • support culturally safe care
  • involve communities and workers in service improvements
  • manage funding across services
  • support teaching, training and research.

The ACT Local Hospital Network includes:

  • ACT Government – public health and preventive services and hospitals
  • Private Provider Program – for delivering public elective surgeries
  • Tresillian Family Care Centres – Queen Elizabeth II Family Centre.
