The 2023-24 to 2027-28 ILRP has a positive benefit for the Housing and Home Wellbeing Indicator.
Government response to Assembly Resolution ‘Household Waste Management’ of 5 April 2022

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Transport and City Services table the ACT Government response to the Assembly Resolution ‘Household Waste Management’ of 5 April 2022 being in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The submission highlights opportunities which can contribute positively to environment and climate wellbeing, such as encouraging the use of more sustainable alternatives to reduce the volume of disposable products entering our waste systems, as part of growing the circular economy.
Motor Accident Injuries Amendment Bill 2023 - Government Amendments

Cabinet agreed government amendments to the Motor Accident Injuries Amendment Bill 2023 being presented for debate of the Bill in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The overall legislative proposal will have an ongoing positive impact in the wellbeing domain of Governance and Institutions through increasing ACT community trust in government to regulate the MAI Scheme.
Same Day Liquor Delivery Discussion Paper for public consultation

The main wellbeing impact of this Submission is a positive governance and institutions impact. The primary outcome is to consult with the Canberra Community about the regulation of same day liquor delivery providers.
Justice Policy Partnership Strategic Framework and Recommendations to the Joint Council on Closing the Gap

Cabinet agreed the Government Position on the Justice Policy Partnership (JPP) recommendations to the Joint Council on Closing the Gap (the Joint Council).
Consistent with the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Agreement 2019-2028 (the ACT Agreement) Justice Focus Area and the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, the JPP recommendations will have a positive impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, supporting families and communities to thrive in a safe environment and have equitable access to justice and culturally safe services and programs.
National Water Initiative Renewal

Cabinet agreed the ACT Government work cooperatively with the Australian Government and Basin States to renew the 2004 Intergovernmental Agreement on a National Water Initiative.
Nationally collaborative approach to water reform will respond to emerging water challenges and contribute to future-proofing Australia’s water resources.
ACT Government Response to Assembly Petitions – Creation of a Retirement Villages Ombudsman

Cabinet agreed the Government’s response to Assembly Petitions (E PET 038-22 and E PET 008-23) – Creation of a Retirement Villages Ombudsman be provided to the Clerk of the ACT Legislative Assembly.
Under the requirements of the ACT Government Cabinet Handbook, no Wellbeing Impact Assessment was required for this item.
2023-24 Housing Targets

Cabinet agreed the 2023-24 Public, Community and Affordable Housing Targets (housing targets), which will include affordable rental dwellings to be delivered on privately owned land in addition to those in the Indicative Land Release Program (ILRP).
The proposal has a positive benefit to the housing and home and living standards aspects of the wellbeing framework by increasing access to affordable and social housing dwellings and reducing housing costs for lower-income households in the ACT.
Government Response to Petition 41-22 – Speed reduction and controls for Nullarbor Avenue, Harrison

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Transport and City Services provide the response to Petition 41-22 regarding safety on Nullarbor Avenue in Harrison to the Clerk of the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The response to Petition provides information about the assessment and results of the traffic survey along Nullarbor Avenue, deeming the traffic volumes and speeds on the road are well within acceptable limits for the road environment.
Government Response to Petition 2-23 - Restoring the ANU bus route

Human Rights (Complaints) Amendment Bill 2023 - Policy Approval

The establishment of the new human rights complaints pathway will contribute to the governance and institutions wellbeing domain by strengthening the human rights framework in the ACT.
Building and Construction Legislation Amendment Bill 2023 – Policy approval

Cabinet agreed the development of a Building and Construction Legislation Amendment Bill 2023 to make amendments to the ACT’s building regulatory system to improve its effectiveness and support high quality design and building, compliance with building standards and integrity and accountability in the ACT building and construction industry.
This Bill will have positive impacts across the economy, safety, home and housing and health domains through providing clarity around building construction processes and increase safety through ensuring that there is proper oversight and regulation of building, electrical, gas fitting work and plumbing work.
Nature Conservation Amendment Bill 2023 – Policy Approval

Cabinet agreed the development of the Nature Conservation Amendment Bill 2023 that will devise a mechanism for the enforcement of the use of wildlife-safe netting in the ACT.
The new legislation will be supported by the implementation of an educational program and a ‘fruit tree netting swap program’ to support residential transition to wildlife-friendly fruit tree netting.
