2024-25 Whole of Government Capital Works Program - March Quarterly Report

The Expenditure Review Committee of Cabinet agreed to table the 2024-25 Capital Works Program Quarterly Progress Report - 31 March 2025 to the ACT Legislative Assembly, as required under section 30F of the Financial Management Act 1996.
Under the requirements of the ACT Government Cabinet Handbook, no Wellbeing Impact Assessment was required for this item.

ACTs actions against the PFAS Action Plan

Cabinet agreed the Report on the 2019 PFAS Action Plan and the proposed 2025 PFAS Action Plan, which outline the ACT Government’s responsibility for reducing exposure to hazardous PFAS substances in the water, soil and food. This work will assure Canberrans that the ACT Government understands the community’s concerns about PFAS.
A report on the ACT 2019 Per and Poly-Fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Action Plan and an updated 2025 PFAS Action Plan will provide an overarching framework for the ACT’s response to PFAS contamination, and to ensure that the public has access to information about this work.
Draft Urban Forest Wood Reuse Plan

Cabinet agreed to the release of the draft Urban Forest Wood Reuse Plan for community consultation. The draft Urban Forest Wood Reuse Plan identifies the management solutions needed to further the ACT Government’s objective of sustainably reusing felled urban wood generated from tree maintenance and removal work undertaken on public unleased land, including street and parkland trees in the ACT.
The reuse of wood sourced from the ACT’s public urban trees that have reached end of life will enhance the sustainability of the ACT Government’s urban forest management practices by converting a potential waste product into an ongoing resource.
Activity Based Funding Transition

Cabinet agreed to implement Activity Based Funding for public hospitals in the ACT in 2025-26.
The ACT Government will introduce Activity Based Funding (ABF) under an Activity Based Management framework for public hospital services in 2025-26. Implementing ABF will promote a greater focus on understanding public health service demand, with the aim of improving ACT health system efficiency and outcomes over time.
Government Response - Integrity Commission Investigation Report - Operation Juno

Cabinet agreed to a Government response to the Integrity Commission investigation report titled ‘Investigation Report Operation Juno – Concerning certain conduct of Mr Walter Sofronoff KC’.
