Summary of Cabinet outcomes
As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.
Committees of Cabinet
A meeting of the Budget Committee of Cabinet was held. Treasury officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.
Duties (Landholders) Amendment Bill 2012
Cabinet agreed to present the Duties (Landholders) Amendment Bill 2012
in the ACT Legislative Assembly during the May 2012 sitting weeks.
Direct Sale of Land
Part Block 2, Section 83 Fyshwick
Cabinet endorsed the Direct Sale Panel recommendation in relation part Block 2, Section 83 Fyshwick to the Master Builders Association of the ACT.
Part Block 16, Section 46 Greenway
Cabinet endorsed the Direct Sale Panel recommendation in relation part Block 16, Section 46 Greenway to the Greenway Hotel Pty Limited.
Appointments
ACT Magistrates Court
Cabinet agreed to endorse the appointment of Dr Bernadette Boss as a full-time Magistrate to the ACT Magistrates Court.
Professional Standards Council
Cabinet agreed to endorse the appointment of part time members to the Professional Standards Council, subject to Standing Committee consultation.
ACT Muslim Advisory Council
Cabinet agreed to endorse the appointment of Ms Sally Kalek as the Chair of the ACT Muslim Advisory Council.
Cabinet agreed to endorse the following appointments to the ACT Muslim Advisory Council:
- Mr Borhan Ahmed;
- Dr Nisrine El-Mogharbel;
- Ms Zena Taoube; and
- Mr Sadi Uddi.
