Summary of Cabinet outcomes
As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.
Committees of Cabinet
Two meetings of the Budget Committee of Cabinet were held. Treasury officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.
A meeting of the Urban Development Committee of Cabinet was also held. Officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of planning and developmental significance.
Ministerial Response to the Report of the Motor Vehicle Industry Advisory Committee
Cabinet agreed the Ministerial Response to the Report of the Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee Report on motor vehicle repairers in the ACT and operation of the Fair Trading (Motor Vehicle Repair Industry) Act 2010 and Ministerial Response is available onthe Office of Regulatory Services Website

ACT Response into the Senate Inquiry about Former forced Adoption Policies and practices
Cabinet noted the Senate Community Affairs References Committee report – Commonwealth Contribution to Former Forced Adoption Policies and Practices available on on Australian Parliament House Webiste
. The Report makes six recommendations for all States and Territories. The ACT has already committed to provide an apology to those ACT residents who have been affected by forcible removal practices and to support initiatives that assist parents to continue to care for their children.
ACT Commitment to Participate in National Partnership
Cabinet agreed to the ACT participating in a COAG initiative under the Building Australia’s Future Workforce. Further negotiations will be required between Governments, and Commonwealth agreement will be required to the agreement before detailed information of the policy will be made available.
