Summary of Cabinet outcomes
As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.
Committees of Cabinet
A meeting of the Budget Committee of Cabinet was held. Treasury officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance. Cabinet thanked Treasury for its work over the past four years.
A meeting of the Security and Emergency Management Committee of Cabinet was held. Policing, Emergency Services and Government Officials joined with Ministers to discuss security and emergency management issues. Cabinet acknowledged the good work of the Services, and thanked officials for their advice over the past four years.
Changes to the Planning and Development Regulation 2008 – Extension of Time Fees
Cabinet agreed amendments to the Planning and Development Regulation 2008 with regard to the calculation of Extension of Time fees for Crown Lease commence-and-complete provisions for all developments. The legislative change gives effect to a Government commitment and involves setting the fee to one per cent of the General Rates for the time of extension of up to four years. For longer periods (of five years or more), the current system for the calculation of fees will be retained. The Regulation is available on the ACT Legislation Register![]()
Government Submission to the Standing Committee on Public Accounts regarding the Auditor-General’s Report No 2, 2012
Cabinet agreed the ACT Government Submission to the Standing Committee on Public Accounts regarding the Auditor-General’s Report No 2, 2012: Whole of Government Information and Communication Technology Security Management Services. Submissions to the Standing Committee are not publicly released until finalisation of the Standing Committee’s inquiry into the Report.
