Summary of Cabinet Outcomes

As part of the ACT Government's Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet.  It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet.  Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy.  Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government's executive privilege.

Initial Resourcing Requirements for Capital Metro

Cabinet agreed that any resourcing required by the Capital Metro Project be absorbed internally by relevant Directorates until appropriation is made available. Cabinet also agreed the interim Acting Project Director be given the delegation to assist in establishing the Capital Metro Agency. It was noted a recruitment process for a permanent Project Director is underway.

Regulatory Impact Assessment

Cabinet agreed to a review of Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) processes and practices. An Inter-Directorate Committee will oversee the development of recommendations for an administrative and legislative package re-invigorating and reforming the ACT Government's regulatory impact assessment processes. An issues paper will be developed for public consultation towards the end of mid-year.

Appointment

Cabinet agreed to endorse the appointment of Ms Anne Cahill Lambert to the ACT Remuneration Tribunal.
