As part of the ACT Government's Open Government commitment, these are public summaries of matters considered by Cabinet. They are not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and do not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among the matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government's executive privilege.
Government Response to the Standing Committee on Health, Ageing, Community and Social Services Inquiry into ACT Public Service Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment
Cabinet agreed to the Government Response to the Standing Committee on Health, Ageing, Community and Social Services Report on its Inquiry into ACT Public Service Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment. Cabinet also agreed the Chief Minister presenting the Government Response in the Legislative Assembly during the August 2014 sittings. The Government Response will be available in Hansard.
Government Response to the Select Committee on Estimates 2014-15
Cabinet agreed to the Government Response to the Select Committee report on the Appropriation Bill 2014‑2015 and the Appropriation (Office of the Legislative Assembly) Bill 2014‑2015. Cabinet also agreed the Treasurer will present the Government Response in the Legislative Assembly during the August 2014 sittings. The Government Response will be available in Hansard.
ANU City West Integration Precinct Deed
Cabinet agreed to extend the current Precinct Deed between the Australian Capital Territory and the Australian National University by five years. Cabinet also agreed to the Environment and Planning Directorate amending the City West Precinct Provisions in the Planning and Development Regulation 2008, as required.
Westfield partnership to redevelop the Woden Bus Interchange – Heads of Agreement
Cabinet agreed to endorse the Heads of Agreement between the Australian Capital Territory and the owners of Westfield Woden Plaza, subject to more explicit obligations on the part of Westfield to provide active shopfrontage for the future delivery of the Woden Town Centre Revitalisation Project.
ACT Government Submission to the Finance and Public Administration Reference Committee Inquiry into the Prevalence and Impact of Domestic Violence in Australia
Cabinet agreed to endorse the ACT Government Submission to the Finance and Public Administration References Committee Inquiry into the Prevalence and Impact of Domestic Violence in Australia. The submission promotes the ACT's commitment to reducing violence against women and their children. Once released, the ACT Government's submission can be found on the Australian Government House of Representatives webpage.
Planning and Development (Bilateral Agreement) Amendment Bill 2014 and Agreement
Cabinet agreed to introduce the Planning and Development (Bilateral Agreement) Amendment Bill 2014, which amends the Planning and Development Act 2007 to establish a one stop shop for environmental approvals. Cabinet also agreed to an Environmental Offsets Policy that outlines the ACT Government's approach to the use of environmental offsets for matters of National Environmental Significance under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and for ACT Protected Matters.

Government Response to Human Rights Audit on the Conditions of Detention of Women at the Alexander Maconochie Centre
Cabinet agreed to the Government Response to the Human Rights and Discrimination Commissioner's report on its audit of Conditions of Detention of Women at the Alexander Maconochie Centre. Cabinet also agreed the Minister for Corrective Services table the Government Response in the Legislative Assembly during the August sittings. The Government Response will be available in Hansard.
Major Events Bill 2014
Cabinet agreed to the introduction of the Major Events Bill 2014, which would repeal the Major Events Security Act 2000. The Bill will introduce new provisions for the security and management of major events and ensure the ACT is ready to host the AFC Asian Cup and the ICC Cricket World Cup events in early 2015.

Appointments
ACT Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer (LGBTIQ) Ministerial Advisory Council
Cabinet agreed to the appointment of two members of the LGBTIQ Ministerial Advisory Council for a period of up to three years and placed three people on a 12 month casual vacancy list to be accessed should Council vacancies arise during that period.
