Week Commencing 15 December 2014 - Summary of Cabinet Outcomes

As part of the ACT Government's Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government's executive privilege.

Committees of Cabinet

A meeting of the Security and Emergency Management Committee of Cabinet was convened.  Ministers discussed emerging security and emergency management issues.

A Capital Metro subcommittee of Cabinet meeting was convened. Ministers were provided an update on the Capital Metro project and considered options for the future delivery of a light rail service for the ACT.

A Budget Committee of Cabinet meeting was convened. Cabinet Ministers discussed matters of fiscal significance.

Memorandum of Understanding with Canberra Airport Pty Ltd

Cabinet discussed the revised Memorandum of Understanding with Canberra Airport Pty Ltd. The MoU will be signed and tabled in the Legislative Assembly after it has been executed. After signing, the MoU will be made available on the CMTEDD website.  Cabinet noted that the Greens Minister does not support the 24 hour operation of Canberra airport.

Appointments

    Re-appointment to the Cultural Facilities Corporation Governing Board

    Cabinet agreed to endorse the proposed re-appointment of a member of the Cultural Facilities Corporation Governing Board for a period of three years, subject to consultation with the Standing Committee on Education, Training and Youth Affairs.
