9 December 2014 - Summary of Cabinet Outcomes
As part of the ACT Government's Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government's executive privilege.
Committees of Cabinet
A Budget Committee of Cabinet meeting was convened. Treasury officials joined with Cabinet Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.
A Capital Metro subcommittee of Cabinet meeting was convened. Ministers were provided an update on the Capital Metro project and considered options for the future delivery of a light rail service for the ACT.
Appointments
ACAT Non-Presidential Members
Cabinet agreed to endorse the proposed appointment of senior and ordinary members of the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal, subject to consultation with the Standing Committee on Justice and Community Safety.
ACT Supreme Court, Additional Judge Appointment
Cabinet agreed to endorse the proposed appointment of a part-time additional judge, commencing on the day that the commission is signed by the Executive.
Supreme Court, Acting Judge Appointment
Cabinet agreed to endorse the proposed full-time appointment of an Acting Judge of the Supreme Court for the ACT from 16 December 2014 to 15 December 2015.
Adjudicators under the Corrections Management Act 2007
Cabinet agreed to endorse the proposed appointment of two adjudicators for a period of one and two years and six months respectively.
