29 July 2014 - Summary of Cabinet Outcomes
As part of the ACT Government's Open Government commitment, these are public summaries of matters considered by Cabinet. They are not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and do not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among the matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government's executive privilege.
Committees of Cabinet
A Capital Metro subcommittee of Cabinet meeting was convened. Cabinet was provided a briefing on the Capital Metro Project.
ACTTAB Sale Agreement
Cabinet noted the voting shareholders agreed to the sale of ACTTAB Ltd to Tabcorp Investments No.8 Pty Ltd for the value of $105.5 million. Cabinet further noted that the sale completion is subject to all conditions of the sale agreement being satisfied which is expected to be completed later in 2014.
Appointments
Omnibus Education and Training Appointments – University of Canberra Council and Government Schools Education Council
Cabinet agreed to endorse the reappointments of members to the University of Canberra Council for a period of three years, and endorsed the proposed appointments of education members to the Government Schools Education Council, subject to subject to consultation with the Standing Committee on Education, Training and Youth Affairs.
Youth Advisory Council Appointments
Cabinet agreed to endorse the proposed appointments of several members to the Youth Advisory Council for a period of two years commencing 1 August 2014.
