10 June 2014 - Summary of Cabinet Outcomes
As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, these are public summaries of matters considered by Cabinet. They are not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and do not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among the matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.
Providing support to ACT Golf Clubs
Cabinet agreed to introduce a Market Equity Scheme, which will provide a long-term solution to lessen the burden of non-urban water use charges applied to ACT golf clubs. The Scheme will replace the current policy of providing offsets for non-urban water charges where clubs demonstrate infrastructure investment in water efficiency measures.
Loose-Fill Asbestos – Future Management
Cabinet considered a package of measures to address the future management of loose-fill asbestos insulation in the ACT, including an education and awareness raising campaign.
Appointments
ACT Local Hospital Network Council Reappointments
Cabinet agreed to endorse the reappointment of several members on the ACT Local Hospital Network Council for a period of two years, subject to consultation with the Standing Committee on Health, Ageing, Community and Social Services.
Survey Practice Advisory Committee Appointments
Cabinet agreed to endorse the reappointment of the Surveyor-General, Deputy Surveyor-General and the Registrar General Representative positions on Survey Practice Advisory Committee, as well as the appointment of two part time members, subject to appropriate consultation with the Standing Committee on Planning, Public Works and Territory and Municipal Services.
Ministerial Advisory Council on Women
Cabinet agreed to endorse the proposed appointment of several fulltime members to the Ministerial Advisory Council for Women for a period of two years.
