Summary of Cabinet outcomes

As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among the matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.

Budget Committee of Cabinet

A meeting of the Budget Committee of Cabinet was convened.  Ministers considered an update with regard to the 2013-14 Capital Works Program.

Role of ACT Government under the NDIS

Cabinet agreed to transition processes for the commencement of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in the ACT on 1 July 2014.  The ACT is one of six trial sites where the NDIS will provide Australians with significant disability access to an economically sustainable and viable universal social insurance scheme.  Further information on the NDIS and its national rollout is available on the Australian Government website: www.ndis.gov.auimg-icn-extlink

ACT Equestrian Association Memorandum of Understanding

Cabinet noted the whole-of-government Memorandum of Understanding to be jointly signed with the ACT Equestrian Association. The proposed Memorandum of Understanding establishes a framework for collaboration between the ACT Government and the ACT Equestrian Association to promote a more integrated approach to planning for and managing existing and future equestrian infrastructure.

Workers Compensation Insurance Premiums Quarterly Report

Cabinet noted directorate specific quarterly reports in relation to workers compensation insurance premiums, identifying the governments’ progress against established targets.
