As part of the ACT Government's Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body

Cabinet Ministers joined with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body to discuss matters of significance to the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community.

Budget Sub-Committee of Cabinet

A Budget Committee of Cabinet meeting was convened.  Ministers joined with Officials to discuss matters of fiscal significance.  The Treasurer also provided Cabinet with information pertaining to the 2015-16 Budget framework.

Direct Sale of part Block 6 Section 50 Monash to Goodwin Aged Care Services Limited

Cabinet agreed to the direct sale of part Block 6 Section 50 Monash to Goodwin Aged Care Services Limited, for the purposes of constructing a community activity centre for seniors. The direct sale is subject to Goodwin Aged Care Services Limited securing an approved development application for both the development and consolidation of their existing lease in Monash with the new lease. 

Courts Legislation Amendment Bill 2014 – Policy Approval

Cabinet agreed that legislation be drafted to amend a number of Acts to clarify court processes and definitions, and also define the scope of powers relating to coronial investigation scenes. The proposed amendments will address procedural anomalies and efficiencies in court related laws, clarify the different requirements for and powers for coronial and criminal investigations, and introduce coronial procedural amendments.

Appointments

    Appointments to Investment Advisory Board 2014

    Cabinet endorsed the appointment of Mr Ephraim Grunhard as the part-time Chair and the re-appointment of Ms Catherine Wood and Mr Duncan Paterson as part-time Members of the Investment Advisory Board for a period of three years commencing on 1 November 2014.
