Summary of Cabinet outcomes for week of 23 November 2015
As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.
NDIS Information Linkages and Capacity Building – Financial Liability and Transition Plan
Cabinet considered an update on the implementation of the NDIS in the Territory. Cabinet noted that the National Disability Insurance Authority will soon begin funding information linkages and capacity building service providers, and noted implications for ACT service providers.
Draft Climate Change Adaptation Strategy – Living with a Warmer Climate
Cabinet agreed to public consultation on a draft ACT Climate Change Adaptation strategy. Cabinet noted that the public consultation on a strategy for adapting to climate change would include input from the ACT community, and the Canberra region with NSW local government representatives and key stakeholders. Cabinet endorsed the release of a draft version of the strategy.
Review of the Location of Hazardous Industries Report
Cabinet agreed to further work on a policy for a revised planning framework in relation to hazardous industries. Cabinet noted that the Environment Protection Directorate and Access Canberra would work together to develop new planning policies for hazardous industries and consult with industry stakeholders.
TaMS and ACTION Workers Compensation Insurance Premiums Quarterly Report
Cabinet noted an update on TAMS and ACTION workers compensation insurance premiums for the period 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015.
