Summary of Cabinet Outcomes for 3 November 2015

As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. Committees of Cabinet

Cabinet Ministers and Executives met to discuss urban renewal issues in the ACT including draft master plans for Kippax and Curtin, redevelopment in the Civic precinct, and information about the regulation of the building industry.

Direct sale of land to Canberra Muslim Youth Incorporated to establish the Taqwa School in Moncrieff Part Block 1 Section 33

Cabinet considered the proposed direct sale of Block 1 Section 33 Moncrieff to Canberra Muslim Youth Incorporated for the purpose of establishing an educational facility.

ACT Basin Priority Project – Clean Water for Canberra: Water Quality Improvements Options

Cabinet endorsed options to improve water quality in the ACT basin area.  Ministers considered proposed investments in appropriate infrastructure to protect downstream water quality.  Innovative infrastructure practices identified in this process will deliver higher water quality performance with a smaller footprint.

Proposed Commonwealth Counter Terrorism Legislation Amendment Bill 2015

Cabinet considered the ACT’s position on proposed Commonwealth amendments to counter-terrorism legislation.

Appointments

Cabinet endorsed the proposed appointment of Laura Sweeney to the LGBTIQ Ministerial Advisory Council.
