SUMMARY OF CABINET OUTCOMES FOR 14 SEPTEMBER 2015
As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.
ACT Government Accommodation: Civic and Dickson
Cabinet considered the ongoing accommodation strategy for the ACT Government.
Lotteries (Approvals) Amendment Bill 2015
Cabinet agreed to introduction of the Lotteries (Approvals) Amendment Bill 2015, which amends the Lotteries Act 1964 and the Gambling and Racing Control (Code of Practice) Regulation 2002. The amendments provide immediate regulatory reform to exempt low-risk lotteries from requiring approval by the Gambling and Racing Commission.
Children and Young People Amendment Bill 2015 (No. 3)
Cabinet agreed to table the Children and Young People Amendment Bill 2015 (No. 3) in the Legislative Assembly. The amendments are required to give effect to a number of important elements of A Step Up for Our Kids (Out of Home Care Strategy 2015–2020), which was released in January 2015.

Cabinet agreed to the following Ministerial Statements being presented to the Legislative Assembly during the Spring sitting weeks.
- ACT Young People’s Plan, Final Report.
- Vocational Education and Training for Secondary Students in ACT Public Schools.
- ACT as a Refugee Welcome Zone.
