Council of Pacific Capital Cities Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
Summary
The Council of Pacific Capital Cities Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was co-signed by Canberra, Suva and Wellington in June 2025.
The council fosters regional partnerships in the Pacific and helps to develop people-to-people links and regional cooperation.
Membership of the council is open to the capital cities of each independent nation in the Pacific region.
This memorandum helps to further the region’s collective commitment to economic, cultural, and political cooperation.
Areas for cooperation are:

- sustainable development and city planning
- economic growth and diversification
- health and wellbeing
- innovation
- art and culture
- governance and administration.
