Invasive Plants Operations Plan
Summary
The Invasive Plants Operations Plan is an implementation plan for the efficient allocation of budgets for invasive plant control on public land in the ACT.
It has the following aims:
- Identify the invasive plants that cause the most environmental, economic and social damage.
- Stop or slow the spread of these invasive plants.
- Prioritise the protection of the assets that are under immediate threat.
- Undertake control measures that are cost-effective.
- Evaluate outcomes of control measures.
Mapping with Citizen Science and ArcGIS Online Field Maps provides the data to assess whether the aims are being met.
Planned control work on leased rural land is outlined in separate land management agreements. Major threats are tackled jointly, because invasive plants do not recognise fences or property boundaries.
