The Social Compact
Summary
The Social Compact is a relationship framework between the ACT Government and the Community Sector.
Our vision is to build Canberra as a place where all people reach their potential, make a contribution and share the benefits of an inclusive community.
In 2026 we began reforming the way we work with the community services sector to identify and respond to the needs of our community.
Proposed reforms include:
- co-designing a refreshed Social Compact between government and the community sector
- reviewing the approach to community services commissioning
- improving internal government decision-making processes.
