Wood heater survey
Summary
The Wood heater survey explored community views and experiences of wood heaters in the ACT.
Almost 2,000 YourSay Panel members took part in the survey from 11 to 18 August 2022.
The survey examined and explored:
- wood heater ownership and use during winter
- whether owners were considering replacing or had replaced a wood heater in the past
- community attitudes towards air quality and smoke from wood heaters
- opinions on transitioning to cleaner energy sources.
The Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate used the results to inform actions in the ACT Government’s Bushfire Smoke and Air Quality Strategy 2021–25.
