Youth at Risk Project publications
Summary
The project's aim is to improve outcomes for young people with complex needs and affected by trauma.
It began in 2022 is a partnership between ACT Health and the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.
As part of the project, we asked our community about their current challenges in the child and youth mental health sector.
We recommended ways to improve collaboration in the child and youth mental health sector.
We developed trauma informed practice training and an evaluation framework to help improve future training.
In 2025, we engaged with the community on a plan for a youth trauma service. We held a grant process and selected Uniting as the provider to operate the new service. Young people have chosen to name the service TIDES Youth Trauma Service. The service is located in Lyneham. Updates about when the service will be open for referrals is available on the TIDES webpage.
Our Evaluation Advisory Group is helping us evaluate the project's activities.
