Allied health professionals work with people from all walks of life, making a difference to their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
In the ACT, there are a range of initiatives to acknowledge the important work of allied health professionals and give them the recognition they deserve.
Allied Health Professions Day
Allied Health Professions Day is celebrated internationally on the 14th of October each year.
The day aims to:
- raise the profile of allied health professionals and their role in the health workforce
- bring together allied health professionals to celebrate the work they do.
The Allied Health Excellence Awards are announced on Allied Health Professions Day.
Allied Health Excellence Awards
The annual ACT Allied Health Excellence Awards acknowledge the significant contribution of allied health professionals to the health and wellbeing of the ACT community.
Allied Health Symposium
The Allied Health Symposium, hosted by the Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer, is an annual event for ACT allied health professionals and assistants to showcase their research and quality activities, and network with their colleagues.
Allied Health Symposium 2026
The Allied Health Symposium 2026 was held on Wednesday May 27, 2026. The theme for the event was 'Advancing Allied Health'.
