What we do

This committee was established in September 2024 to strengthen governance and collaboration for Directorates working on domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV). We recognise that preventing and responding to DFSV is a shared responsibility across all ACT Government Directorates.

The committee drives strategic action to:

  • prevent DFSV
  • improve responses
  • deliver better outcomes for victim-survivors in the ACT.

It supports Directorates to continuously improve policies, programs, and systems. This aligns with the ACT reform agenda and our national commitments.

Members

The committee is chaired by the Deputy Director-General of the Health and Community Services Directorate. Members include senior executive representatives from across the ACT Government, primarily at the Deputy Director-General level. Participating Directorates and agencies include:

  • Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate
  • Justice and Community Safety Directorate
  • Health and Community Services Directorate
  • Canberra Health Services
  • Education Directorate
  • ACT Policing / Australian Federal Police

Additional attendees may be invited to meetings as needed.

Meetings

The Committee meets 4 times a year, with extra meetings held as needed.
