Environment Grants
This grant helps the community address local environmental issues they care about and supports projects to connect more of the community to nature.
This grant is part of the ACT Environmental Grants Program.
Who this is for
This grant is for community groups, not-for-profit organisations and individuals.
What you get
You can get a grant of up to $35,000.
Check if you can apply
You can apply if you’re:
- a community group
- a not-for-profit community organisation
- an ACT public school parents and citizens association
- an independent private school
- an owners’ corporation
- an individual.
You must not be:
- a government agency
- a political party registered under the Electoral Act.
Individuals and non-incorporated groups will need to apply through a sponsoring incorporated community organisation.
Not-for-profit organisations and other groups must have an incorporated legal structure registered under the Commonwealth Corporations Act 2001.
- ACT Government schools must apply through their Parents and Citizens Association.
- Private independent schools can apply directly through their school.
Owners’ corporations are eligible if they’re registered and apply with their Strata title.
What you can do
Your project must:
- align with the funding priorities in the grant guidelines
- be undertaken within the Australian Capital Territory.

Funding for your project is for one year.
Before you apply
Check what you’ll need to apply
You, or your sponsor, will need to have:
- an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- public liability insurance with a minimum of $20 million in cover
- voluntary workers insurance if your project uses a volunteer base
- other documentation outlined in the grant guidelines and application form.

- Register or log in to your account.
- Follow the instructions to complete your application.
- Submit your application before the close date.
After you apply
We'll assess your application and let you know the result by email.
If your application meets eligibility requirements, a panel will assess it against the criteria in the grant guidelines.
If you're successful we'll:
- notify your and your sponsor by email
- contact you to finalise the Deed of Grant for your project.
