ACT Infrastructure Plan – Transport Update

Cabinet agreed the Transport sector update to the ACT Infrastructure Plan.

The provision of infrastructure is a significant enabler of wellbeing and is vital to enable the sustainable growth of Canberra’s communities. The sector updates to the ACT Infrastructure Plan positively impact the wellbeing of the Canberra community and economy by ensuring that the Government’s infrastructure priorities remain appropriate to our community and that sector needs are communicated clearly. The updated Transport sector includes infrastructure projects which will have positive direct and indirect impacts to the domains of Economy, Access and Connectivity, Social Connection, Time, Safety and Governance and Institutions.

Reducing Recidivism in the ACT 25% by 2025 Plan – Phase 2

Cabinet agreed to the proposed Reducing Recidivism in the ACT 25% by 2025 Plan – Phase 2.

The Reducing Recidivism in the ACT 25% by 2025 Plan – Phase 2 will have significant and sustained wellbeing impacts across the Safety domain for all residents in the ACT, with secondary impacts on the Economy, Health, Housing, Identity and Belonging, and Social Connection domains.

Disability Royal Commission (DRC) Final Report Recommendations – ACT Government Response

Discussion Paper on approaches to regulating gambling advertising in the ACT

Consultation on minimum standards for rental properties and occupancy law reform

Cabinet agreed to release a public consultation paper seeking community feedback on minimum housing standards for rental properties and occupancy law reform.

The proposal does not have a direct wellbeing impact, as no new initiatives are contemplated. The feedback received through the public consultation process may have a positive impact on the Canberra community in the housing and home domain by informing policy development in relation to minimum housing standards for rental properties and the identification of new initiatives to strengthen occupants’ rights.

Government Response – Standing Committee on Justice and Community Safety – Report 26 – Inquiry into the Integrity Commission Amendment Bill 2022 (No 2)

Cabinet agreed the Government Response to the Standing Committee on Justice and Community Safety inquiry report on the Integrity Commission Amendment Bill 2022 (No 2).

The proposal has no wellbeing impact, noting the government response defers substantive consideration of the matters dealt with in the report to the eleventh Assembly due to insufficient time remaining during the tenth Assembly.

Government Response - Standing Committee on Education and Community Inclusion Report 9 - Inquiry into the Future of School Infrastructure in the ACT

Cabinet agreed the Government Response to the Standing Committee on Education and Community Inclusion Report 9 - Inquiry into the Future of School Infrastructure in the ACT be tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.

Investment in public school infrastructure, including upgrading and maintaining the quality of learning and other spaces available in ACT public schools will have an ongoing positive impact in the domain of Education and Lifelong Learning.

The Better Regulation Agenda – Night-Time Economy Review – Entertainment Precincts Amendments will support the delivery of a vibrant CCEP. The changes will primarily see positive wellbeing benefits in the Economy domain, with benefits also realised in the Identity and Belonging domain.
