Cabinet agreed the Minister for Homes and New Suburbs table a report to the ACT Legislative Assembly in response to the “Resolution of the Assembly 29 November 2023 – Public housing – Minimum energy efficiency standard – Proposed upgrade”
The upgrade of ceiling insulation in public housing will have a direct and sustained positive impact on the thermal comfort and energy costs for project participants. These impacts apply to approximately 3,500 households in public housing properties.
Assisted Reproductive Technology Amendment Bill 2024 - Policy approval

Cabinet agreed the development of amendments to the Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2024 to revise transitional arrangements under the Act and to make technical amendments to the Act.
The proposed amendments will impact wellbeing primarily through health, supporting the wellbeing of people accessing Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) services and children born through ART, through improving the fairness, transparency, and safety of ART services in the ACT.

Government Response - Standing Committee on Education and Community Inclusion - Inquiry into skateboarding and skate parks in the ACT

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Sport and Recreation provide the Government Response to the Inquiry into skateboarding and skateparks in the ACT to the Standing Committee on Education and Community Inclusion.
Skateparks provide opportunities for members of the public to participate in group activities with like-minded individuals, which encourages physical activity and brings people together, contributing to better health and wellbeing outcomes and social cohesion. Activating open spaces with skate facilities strengthens custodianship, community cohesion and connection and the capacity of local communities to care for our urban open spaces. It fosters a sense of belonging and ownership, brings people together, and encourages physical activity, all of which contribute to better health and wellbeing.
Standing Committee on Justice and Community Safety - Report No 29 – Inquiry into Cashless Gaming in the ACT - Government Response

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Gaming Reform table the Government Response to the Standing Committee on Justice and Community Safety Report No 29 Inquiry into cashless gaming in the ACT in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The Government Response will have no direct wellbeing impact, however, implementation of it may have an impact on the health, economy and governance and institutions domains.
2023-24 Minister’s Annual Report under the Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act 2020

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Climate Change, Environment, Energy and Water table in the ACT Legislative Assembly and publicly release of the 2023–24 Minister’s Annual Report under the Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act 2010.
There are no direct impacts associated with this proposal. The Minister’s Annual Report showcases the ACT’s achievements and progress on climate change and emissions reduction. As such, the key wellbeing domain indirectly affected is ‘Environment and Climate’. The continued implementation of the Climate Change Strategy, the Living Infrastructure Plan, the Integrated Energy Plan and the Zero Emissions Vehicle Strategy will result in reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and increasing resilience to climate change.
Government Response – Standing Committee on Environment, Climate Change and Biodiversity – Report 13 – Inquiry into the ACT environment’s bushfire preparedness and Bi-annual Report to the Legislative Assembly

Cabinet agreed the Government Response to the report published by the former Standing Committee of Environment, Climate Change and Biodiversity of the Tenth Legislative Assembly in September 2024 titled Inquiry into the ACT Environment’s Bushfire Preparedness and to the associated Ministerial Statement being delivered in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The ACT Government’s response to the Inquiry into the ACT Environment’s Bushfire Preparedness reaffirms the significant ongoing investment and constant work by the Government to reduce the residual risk of bushfire, that subsequently protects life, property, and the environment throughout the ACT and surrounding region. The planned, proper, and diligent management of fuels and other bushfire risks that exist in the ACT’s nature environment remains a core priority for the Government and necessary to prevent extinction risks for flora, fauna and vegetation communities that are sensitive to fire.
