Disability Justice Strategy: Second Action Plan

Cabinet agreed the Second Action Plan (2024-2028) under the Disability Justice Strategy, and the Attorney-General deliver a Ministerial Statement in the ACT Legislative Assembly on the Action Plan.
The Second Action Plan (2024-2028) under the Disability Justice Strategy will have significant and sustained wellbeing impacts for people with disability, their families, carers and the community across the Governance and institutions; Access and connectivity; Identity and belonging; and Safety domains.
Government Response to Petition PET 019-21 – Footpath between the western side of Fullagar Crescent and Higgins

Cabinet agreed the Minister for City Services provide the Government Response to Petition PET 019-24 regarding the footpath between the western side of Fullagar Crescent and Higgins Shops to the Clerk of the ACT Legislative Assembly for tabling.
The ACT Government recognises that footpaths enhance the wellbeing, strengthen the social fabric of our communities and contribute to environmental outcomes.
Government Response to Petition E-PET-008-24 regarding – Improve active travel network around Maribyrnong Primary School in Kaleen

Cabinet agreed the Minister for City Services provide the Government Response to Petition 008-24 - Improve active travel network around Maribyrnong Primary School in Kaleen to the Clerk of the ACT Legislative Assembly for tabling.
The ACT Government recognises that that an improved active travel network around Maribyrnong Primary School and improved traffic safety will strengthen the access and connectivity for the community.
Response to Petition (e Pet 029-23 and Pet 018-24) – Increase police presence in Woden Town Centre

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Police and Crime Prevention provide the Government Response to Petition E-Pet-029-23 and Pet-018-24 Increase the police presence in Woden Town Centre to the Clerk of the ACT Legislative Assembly for tabling.
The Government’s response will have positive impact on the safety wellbeing domain as it addresses the safety concerns of the petitioners. The response highlights the work being done to address concerns from small businesses about the level of police presence in Woden Town Centre. This is supported by the ACT Government’s commitment of an additional $107 million to ACT Policing for an additional 126 police officers over the next five years. It will also have positive impact on the governance and institutions domain as it addresses the petitioners’ concerns that the ACT Government is unwilling to take any action.
Government Response to Petition E-PET-021-24 – Parking at Florey Shops

Government Response to Petition E-PET 017-24 – Erskine Street Neighbourhood Playground

Cabinet agreed the Minister for City Services provide the Government Response to Petition EPET 017-24 regarding Erskine Street Neighbourhood Playground to the Clerk of the ACT Legislative Assembly for tabling.
The ACT Government recognises that playgrounds can enhance health and wellbeing, strengthen the social fabric of our communities, and contribute to environmental outcomes. The Macquarie local shops playground upgrade will improve play opportunity for all residents of Macquarie.
