Statutory Review of the Crimes (Child Sex Offender) Amendment Act 2025

Cabinet agreed for the Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services to table the Statutory Review on the Crimes (Child Sex Offender) Amendment Act 2025 in the Legislative Assembly.

The findings of the statutory review, if implemented, will have positive wellbeing impacts across the safety domain. The findings will increase safety for children and the community.

CO-SPONSORED Nurse Practitioners Legislation Amendment Bill 2025 – Agreement to Introduce

Cabinet agreed to introduce the Nurse Practitioners Legislation Amendment Bill 2025 which removes legislative barriers to nurse practitioners exercising their full scope of practice in relation to cause of death certificates and non-written health directions.

The proposed amendments will have impacts primarily across health, and secondly across government and institution domains with significant benefits for nurse practitioners, employers, other health practitioners and the ACT community by increasing choice in, and access to, high quality care.

UPDATE: FWC Community Sector Multi-Employer Agreement (MEA) Negotiations

Cabinet agreed a position regarding the ongoing Fair Work Commission ACT Community Sector Multi-Employer Agreement (MEA) negotiation process.

The Fair Work Commission ACT Community Sector Multi-Employer Agreement (MEA) negotiations process improved conditions will increase living standards for those workers and their families, who work in traditionally lower paid industries.

Government Response to Petition – E-Petition 037-25 - Keep WWVP cards free for Volunteers

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Disability, Carers and Community Services provide the Government response to petition E-PET-037-25 to the Clerk of the Assembly.

A robust and effective Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) scheme is important for the health, safety and wellbeing of our community. The review and implementation of actions to improve the sustainability of the WWVP scheme will have a positive impact on the wellbeing domains of safety and governance and institutions.

Vote on proposed amendments to the Australian Consumer Law

Cabinet agreed for the Attorney-General to vote on behalf of the ACT at the 2025 Consumer Ministers’ Network meeting on multiple proposals to amend the Australian Consumer Law.

Cabinet agreed the Submission will have positive impacts on the domain of Governance and Institutions, with a secondary positive impact on domain of Economy.

Government Response – E-PET-033-25 Reimagining Wakefield Gardens - A Bold New Community Vision

Cabinet agreed for the Minister for the Public Service to table a Government Response to E-PET-033-25 in the 2 December sitting week.

This submission will have a positive impact on the wellbeing domains of social connection and safety via the ACT Government’s commitment to the demolition and remediation of the damaged structure at 91A Wakefield Gardens.

Bimberi Headline Indicators Report – December 2025
