Establishing an independent inquiry into the future of the ACT clubs industry

Cabinet agreed to terms of reference for an independent inquiry into the future of the ACT clubs industry.
Establishing the Independent Inquiry into the future of the ACT club industry is expected to have wellbeing impacts on governance and institutions, the local economy and the health of Canberrans by helping to create a club industry transition plan which will allow clubs to remain sustainable and provide profits back to the community while supporting the introduction of gambling harm reduction measures such as reducing the number of EGMs in clubs and implementing account-based cashless gaming with associated harm reduction measures.
Disability Royal Commission (DRC) - April 2025 Input to National Monitoring and Reporting

Cabinet agreed to ACT input for the inaugural Biannual Joint National Report on the implementation of the Disability Royal Commission, covering state and territory recommendations and joint recommendations overseen by respective Ministerial councils.
The ACT Input for the inaugural Biannual Joint National Report on the implementation of the Disability Royal Commission Disability Royal Commission impacts the wellbeing of Governance and Institutions.
Missing Middle Housing Reforms – Public Consultation

Cabinet agreed to the release of the draft Missing Middle Housing Design Guide for public consultation and noted the draft Major Plan Amendment and associated documents to be released concurrently by the Territory Planning Authority for statutory consultation under the Planning Act 2023.
The proposed missing middle reforms have broad positive impacts across several wellbeing domains including Housing and home, Economy, Environment and climate and Access and connectivity.
Strategic Bushfire Management Plan Version 5
Minute Number: 25/118/CAB
Cabinet agreed to the Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services releasing the draft Strategic Bushfire Management Plan Version 5 (SBMPv5) for public consultation.
The SBMP is produced every five years and has been in place since 2004, following the tragic bushfires of summer 2003. That event was formative in the ACT history of bushfires. SBMPv5 will provide strategic actions that will benefit the ACT community and the environment in bushfire preparedness, detection and response. The SBMPv5 will consider climate change and adaptation, research, technology, community resilience and cultural factors to guide the next five years of bushfire management in the ACT.
