Cabinet agreed to the Attorney-General presenting the Better Regulation Legislation Amendment Bill 2025 and the Better Regulation (Repeal of Legislation) Bill 2025 in the March 2025 sitting week of the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The Better Regulation Legislation Amendment Bill 2025 and the Better Regulation (Repeal of Legislation) Bill 2025 continues the ACT Government’s commitment to better regulation by revising the statute book to ensure legislation remains up-to-date and relevant.
Disaster Ready Fund Round Two - Federation Funding Agreement Schedule

Cabinet agreed to enter into an agreement with the Commonwealth Government to deliver nine disaster resilience and risk reduction projects under the Disaster Ready Fund Round Two. The projects will be delivered over three years from 2024/25.
This proposal will have a positive impact on the wellbeing of all Canberrans by reducing the contributors to, and consequences of, disasters in the ACT. It improves safety by reducing the impacts of disasters on people, assets, the ecosystem and services.
Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Amendment (Vaping Goods) Bill 2025 - Combined Pass and Policy Approval

Cabinet agreed that the Minister for Health introduce the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products (Vaping Goods) Amendment Bill 2025 in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The regulation of vaping goods and other smoking products supports health, environmental and social domains under the ACT Wellbeing Framework. Reducing the availability of illegal smoking products has the potential to lead to improved short and long-term public health outcomes as well as reduce environmental contamination.
Government Response - ACT Auditor-General’s Performance Audit Report No. 11 of 2024 - Governing boards of selected ACT Government entities

Cabinet agreed the Government Response to ACT Auditor-General's Report No. 11 of 2024 on Governing boards of selected ACT Government entities.
The Government Response will impact members of the relevant governing boards and the ACT Public Service through implementation of changes to current and future practices. In addition, effectively responding to issues raised by the Auditor-General and improving future practices will support the community’s confidence and trust in government.
CSIRO Ginninderra East – Proposed Acquisition

Cabinet agreed to the Minister for Homes and New Suburbs, consistent with the City Renewal Authority and Suburban Land Agency Land Acquisition Direction, approve the acquisition of Ginninderra East.
There are significant benefits with the land acquisition in terms of increased housing supply, environmental offsets and a financial return to the Territory.

The Turbocharging measure – TAFE Centres of Excellence Schedule and Project Plan will deliver positive impacts across the lifelong education and learning and economy wellbeing domains. The Turbocharging measure seeks to develop and promote skills in electric vehicle technology and increase the workforce in this emerging industry.
