Gaming Legislation Amendment Bill 2025

Cabinet agreed to the introduction of the Gaming Legislation Amendment Bill 2025 in the Legislative Assembly. The Bill will amend the Gambling and Racing Control Act 1999 to expand information sharing and disclosure provisions. The Bill will amend the Gaming Machine Act 2004 to implement a two-year pause on payments into and out of the Diversification and Sustainability Support Fund.
The amendments in the Bill will expand information sharing and disclosure provisions and implement a two-year pause on payments into and out of the Diversification and Sustainability Support Fund. Therefore, the Bill will have impacts on the wellbeing domains of governance and institutions, and economy.
Government Response to Assembly Resolution of 5 February 2025 – ACT economic performance – Impact on housing and construction sector

Cabinet agreed that the Treasurer provide a response to the ACT Legislative Assembly on the Assembly Resolution of 5 February 2025 regarding the ACT economic performance – impact on housing and construction sector.
The ACT Government’s fiscal strategy and plan will be updated as part of the 2025-26 Budget.
Government Position - Private Member's Bill - Planning (Ainslie Volcanics) Amendment Bill 2025

Cabinet agreed to not support the Planning (Ainslie Volcanics) Amendment Bill 2025.
If the Planning (Ainslie Volcanics) Amendment Bill 2025 Bill was to be passed, community and ACT Government land management activities could be impacted as the Bill proposes to not allow any future Development Applications (DAs). In addition, revocation of approved DAs would set a serious precedent which could create significant uncertainty for other development approvals and undermine the whole intent of the planning system being a clear and transparent framework set through legislation.
Libraries ACT – Strategic Plan and Resource Improvement - Assembly Resolution of 19 March 2025 – Government Response

Cabinet agreed to the Minister for City and Government Services providing a Government Response responding to the Assembly Resolution of 19 March 2025 regarding staff at ACT Libraries.
The ACT Government has provided a response to the Assembly Resolution of 19 March 2025, continuing with its commitment to keeping the community informed of actions being taken to improve consistency of library service delivery.
Delaying the commencement of the domestic and family violence information sharing scheme

Cabinet agreed to the Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence presenting the Domestic Violence Agencies (Information Sharing) Amendment Bill 2025 and accompanying Explanatory Statement in the Legislative Assembly in the 8-10 April 2025 sittings.
The Wellbeing Impact Assessment identified the proposal is likely to have a positive impact on the safety of victim-survivors by supporting information sharing entities to implement the domestic and family violence information sharing scheme.
