ACT Government Submission to the Senate Select Committee on Productivity in Australia

Cabinet agreed to provide the ACT Government’s Submission to the Senate Select Committee on Productivity in Australia. The Submission outlines the Territory’s current initiatives to drive productivity growth and the potential to accelerate national productivity through a more sustainable funding model for implementation of productivity reforms.

Skills FFA omnibus

Cabinet agreed the ACT will sign two Schedules to the Federal Funding Agreement – Education and Skills; Clean Energy Capital Investment Fund, Turbocharging the Clean Energy VET Workforce, and subject to further negotiation also sign the Advanced Entry Trade Training Schedule.

This proposal is anticipated to have positive impacts on the education and lifelong learning domain as it provides additional training capacity, capability and opportunity in the ACT. It is also expected to have positive impacts on the environment and climate and economy wellbeing domains, noting its focus on the clean energy and building and civil construction industries, which are integral to the ACT economy and strategic priorities.

Government Response to Standing Committee on Environment and Planning – Report No. 3 Inquiry into the procurement and delivery of MyWay+

Cabinet agreed to the Government Response to the Standing Committee on Environment and Planning - Report No. 3 Inquiry into the procurement and delivery of MyWay+.

The actions being undertaken by ACT Government to strengthen digital service delivery, enhance project and program management capability, improve accessibility assurance processes, expand community testing, and increase transparency in the development and implementation of digital platforms across government.

ACT Food Relief Action Plan

Cabinet agreed for the Minister for Disability, Carers and Community Services to table the ACT Food Relief Action Plan in the Legislative Assembly during the 3-5 March 2026 sitting period in response to the Assembly Resolution.

The ACT Food Relief Action Plan has been developed in consultation with the Food and Emergency Relief Advisory Committee, the Food Relief network and across directorates. The Action Plan has been designed to support our community, our services, and our system, providing 6 key actions that reflect the foundational work required to progress more strategic and future-focused action in responding to food insecurity in the ACT.

Statutory Review of section 70 Corrections Management Act 2007

Response to the Petition – E-PET-073-25 – The reinstatement of the Diploma of Remedial Massage Course at CIT

Cabinet agreed the response to Petition E-PET-073-25 - The reinstatement of the Diploma of Remedial Massage Course at CIT be provided to the Clerk of the Assembly for tabling in the Legislative Assembly.

A certificate IV in Massage Therapy (HLT42021) and Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52021) has been returned to CIT’s scope of registration. The return of these courses will support the wellbeing domains of education and life-long learning, and health.

The Government response highlights the existing language education options for senior secondary students in ACT public schools, which has a neutral impact on the education and lifelong learning wellbeing domain. There are additional positive impacts of the Government response for the wellbeing domain of Governance and Institutions. By providing this response to the petition, the ACT Government is demonstrating its accountability and transparency.

It also advances the Safety wellbeing domain by detailing current delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) related driving laws prescribed by the Road Transport (Drugs and Alcohol) Act 1977. It recognises that drivers impaired by drugs, including from THC, present a serious risk to the safety of all road users.
