General Conservation Policy 6: Loose fill asbestos in heritage places

Summary

General Conservation Policy 6 guides the renovation or demolition of heritage places affected by loose fill asbestos insulation.

Where a report from a licensed asbestos assessor identifies the presence of loose fill asbestos in a building at a heritage place, the ACT Heritage Council will not object to the demolition of the building subject to the conditions detailed in this policy.
