An ACT Government Website

ACT Health monitors influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and COVID-19 that is confirmed in a laboratory in the ACT.

Publication of the Weekly Respiratory Illness Report will pause from Friday 24 January 2025, re-commencing in the autumn/winter months of the year, when the ACT is likely to observe an increase in respiratory illnesses again.

Regularly updated ACT data for COVID-19, RSV and influenza is available from the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS) at: National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS) data visualisation tool | Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care

Key information

Notification data only includes cases of influenza, RSV and COVID-19 among ACT residents that have been confirmed by a laboratory test.

Generally, notification data represent only a small proportion of cases occurring in the community. All data are preliminary and subject to change as updates are received.

Reporting of acute respiratory illness surveillance has changed since 2020, to incorporate data available for COVID-19 and RSV.
