Prequalification
The ACT Government operates prequalification schemes for contractors and consultants in the construction industry. These schemes help manage risk, support sustainable practices and make it easier for businesses to tender for work.
The ACT Government also administers two National Prequalification Schemes on behalf of Australasian Procurement and Construction Council Inc (APCC) and Austroads Limited.
Prequalification:
- enables businesses to supply construction and consultancy services to the ACT Government
- groups suppliers into categories based on capability and experience
- includes a registration scheme for small architectural and landscape architectural firms
- helps reduce risk to the Territory and subcontractors by ensuring appropriate financial and performance standards
- supports environmentally sustainable practices in construction
- streamlines tendering processes.
