Overview
Infrastructure Canberra (iCBR) (Formerly Major Projects Canberra) provides property and asset management services to ACT Government owned and leased properties. Core responsibilities include:
- Strategic asset management
- Managing government and/or non-government properties and tenancies
- Managing Territory owned aquatic facilities and management contracts
- Property maintenance, upgrades and trade services.
iCBR also manages a number of community venues which are available for short and long term hire. This includes iconic venues such as Albert Hall, Yarralumla Woolshed and the Former Transport Depot in Kingston as well as a number of heritage listed community venues located across the city. Many of the venues are quite popular with the community and cater to a range of different events. Hiring of these facilities is coordinated by several hiring managers including Venues Canberra and community organisations.
iCBR handles over 10,000 requests for works and services each year across over 400 ACT Government properties. It has more than 500 tenants in properties under management including ACT Government, community and commercial organisations.
Properties managed by iCBR
Within its portfolio is a significant number of heritage and historic buildings, such as the Yarralumla Woolshed and Albert Hall. There are also many unique properties such as aquatic centres and the Civic Merry-Go-Round. Examples of our properties include:

Leasing a property
Premises managed by iCBR are available for lease by community groups, small businesses and some commercial organisations. Requests for leasing of these properties is in high demand and tenant turn over is low. iCBR manages a register of organisations interested in occupying facilities owned and managed by the ACT Government. It is recommended that interested organisations complete the application form expressing interest to lease a property.

Property maintenance
iCBR provides maintenance and upgrades services to ACT Government customers at over 400 sites. The group offers its customers a 'one-stop-shop' and 'fit-for-purpose' capability for asset management.
Services include:
- Planned maintenance programs
- Reactive building maintenance, including a 24 hour response centre
- Project management services for small and medium sized construction and upgrades
- Asset condition audits and reports
- Refurbishments and fit-outs

Hiring a community venue
iCBR manages a range of community halls and centres. The day-to-day management and booking of these facilities for casual and regular events is coordinated by community organisations. You can also hire a range of iCBR properties through Venues Canberra.

Flags and banners
**The Flags and Banner Service is currently under review**
Flag and banner sites across Canberra are available for hire and can be used to publicise events, activities or campaigns that meet the standards, terms and conditions of the ACT Government. Flags and banner sites are not used for general advertising purposes or to promote specific industry events.
Flags and banner sites managed by iCBR are used to:
- Enhance Canberra’s visual attractiveness by adding colour and vibrancy to the city
- Provide information about upcoming significant events of interest to the community, particularly in the cultural, charitable, sporting or recreational spheres occurring within Canberra or the ACT region
- Promote Canberra and the ACT region
- Recognise Canberra’s role as the nation’s capital.
