Overview
Infrastructure Canberra (iCBR) builds infrastructure across the ACT to meet the needs of our growing city. Infrastructure connects and transforms the way we move through Canberra. It supports a growing population projected to reach 500,000 people by 2026-27.
Types of infrastructure include:
- education, emergency services and justice facilities
- health service upgrades including community health centres
- community assets including sport and arts facilities
- roads, highways and active travel networks
- water sensitive urban design and stormwater upgrades.
Infrastructure Plan
Projects managed by iCBR are detailed in the ACT Government's Infrastructure Plan. It is a multi-decade plan developed to address growing needs and priorities for the city. The plan provides a framework for creating and renewing infrastructure across the city. This is funded through the Infrastructure Investment Program. The program forecasts expenditure of $8.1 billion over a five year period to 2028-29. This includes a $6.4 billion investment in the General Government Sector and $1.7 billion by Public Trading Enterprises.
Specific projects are detailed in sector specific infrastructure plans.
